Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraq will be represented by its ambassador to Moscow at the a conference organized in Russia’s Sochi to resolve the Syrian crisis.

Russia Today quoted Interfax’s report that Baghdad’s ambassador to Moscow, Haider Mansour Hadi, and foreign ministry adviser, Qais al-Ameri, will represent Iraq at the National Dialogue Conference slated for January 30th.

It was reported earlier that observers from the United Nation Security Council’s five permanent members, besides representatives from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon and Kazakhstan were invited for the conference.

Nearly 1600 figures are expected at the conference which Russia hopes will reach a resolution to the Syrian conflict ongoing since 2011, and to lay the foundation for a new constitution for the country.

The call for the conference had been adopted by guarantors of the ceasefire scheme in Syria; Russia, Iran and Turkey.

The conflict between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s forces, dissident troops and Islamist militias has left at least 350.000 dead.
